Yesterday night I had a weird dream.

A laser eye was continuously pointed at me and would follow me when I moved. Its laser was powerful enough to slowly burn through everything on its path to finally hit me, so I had to move continuously, because if I didn’t move for more than a few minutes, anything between me and the laser would be burned away and I’d die. Because of this, I couldn’t sleep (in the dream), and eventually I got very tired.

In the morning while I was sitting in the bus to university, I was thinking of how to defend against such a laser. I thought of a disc that I position between me and the laser. The disc spins (slowly or fast) so that the laser’s power is spread out over a radius. Furthermore, the disc very slowly moves perpendicularly to the laser beam so that the radius decreases; slow enough to almost consume the disc, but fast enough to protect me. Then you could buy, for example, a disc in the shop that would last 6 hours.

What about a mirror?

My dad suggested the same. It’s not sensitive to mirrors — it burns right through. :-(
